As someone how both ate chalk and had to take a lactose supplement that tasted like chalk, IT DOESN'T TASTE GOOD.

But the sad thing is, Susie eats chalk... because she's poor.
Seriously.

Notice anything... peculiar about her? How about some details Toby Fox intentionally made. The baggy clothes that don't fit her. The messy, unkempt, and very long hair. The aggressive personality that makes her seem like a very mean person.

She bullies Kris in chapter 1 for finding her eating chalk...
Because she doesn't want to get bullied for being poor.

When I learned that fact, it changed the entire perspective of her character. She's not mean just to be mean.
She's mean because others won't bully her that way.
